Background:

Moncreiffe Primary School is the newest school in Perth and Kinross, opening in 1994, in a semi-open-plan building. The school is in the Moncreiffe/Upper Craigie area of Perth, to the south-east edge of the town, on St Magdalene's Hill. This offers an excellent panoramic vies of the Strathtay and Dundee rivers. In the short history of the school sporting success has come quickly, winning the Super Saints Football Cup and the town Volleyball cup. The school has good community links, and neighbours include a centre for adults with learning difficulties. Pupils visit local businesses who are welcomed in turn to sunctions at the school. The school is also used for the local youth club, Brownie group and an over 50's club. The children get involved in charity fundraising, supporting international projects in places such as Albania, and local concerns such as CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland).The school states its first aim as 'To create a happy, stimulating environment in which children can learn and develop confidence in themselves and others with whome they work'.
