Background:
Established in 1878, the school is housed in a Victorian building with an 'extensive' walled playground, and situated in the small village of Longforgan, a commuter village for Dundee and Perth. The school covers the full 5-14 curriculum and has a 'happy, positive, friendly' ethos with 'almost all' children attaining the targets set. Children from the school take part in a variety of activities such as educational visits, football, hockey and basketball tournaments, as well as a dance festival. The school 'works very closely with the local community' and is involved with keeping the village tidy and entertaining different groups. Older residents help with craft work and the school enjoys 'excellent' support from parents, while the school fund raises money for a number of local charities.
